This month Los Primos is super excited and proud to partner with the Truro District Schools Band Auxilary with our Rafflebox 50/50 draw that will happen on April 3, 2021.
The music program at the Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro NS, ranks as one of the best in the country. Under the leadership of the Ron MacKay, Paul Barrett, Jeff Graham and current director John MacLeod, the CEC Music Program has won a number of prestigious awards and medals in national and international competition.
The Truro music program has produced many of the most well known musicians who have created careers in music and music education. Ken MacKay, David Burton, John Cuming, Jeff Goodspeed, Jamie Gatti, John Hollis, Doug MacKay, Karen MacKay, Will Fisher, Nick Fisher, Andrew Boudreau, Charles Gray, Phil Gray, Bill Hay, Gene Hay, Joanne Abraham, Chris Ryan, Nevin Dunn... the list is very long and there are many more. There is a tradition of musical excellence in Truro and Los Primos wants to use our 50/50 raffle this month to celebrate that legacy.
Nick Fisher at the Truro Junior High and John MacLeod at CEC are at the helm of the two largest programs in Truro and are doing an amazing job of carrying this musical tradition forward. However Music Program achieves success because of the many people who contribute to the effort. Our students, parents, staff, and administrators work together to create the CEC Music Program. We hope to introduce you to many of these people (past and present) throughout the month of March as we work our way towards that April 3 draw when the winner of the Los Primos 50/50 online Raffle will be announce that the Cottage Café in Dartmouth. This will be a fundraiser for the Truro District Schools Band Auxiliary as Los Primos will share the proceeds from this raffle 50/50 with the Truro band program.
