Los Primos and NSCuba - Music and Medicine - Update Sept 2024

We now have about 130 instruments ready to go to Cuba and the Medical Donations are adding up. Looks like we will be sending a 40 foot container to Havana in mid November. 

There may be time left to receive a few more instruments and get them ready before our packing deadline in mid October so if you have any instruments that are in top shape, please let us know with the link below. 

26 YEAR Instrument Campaign

Since the first delivery of 26 instruments in 1998 the Los Primos Project has now donated close to 900 instruments to music students and professional musicians in Cuba.

Amara and Jeff Goodspeed have made it their musicians to take as many unused instruments from Nova Scotia to Cuba as the can to help with the challenge of gettting enough instruments for the many music schools in that country.

What kind of instruments are we looking for?

Student and professional models of band and orchestral instruments. We will be refurbish the instruments to like new condition, so that they will provide many years of service to young musician in Cuba. 

• Woodwinds, Brass, Strings

• Drums and percussions instruments

• Electric guitars and basses

• Amplifiers and Sound Equipment

Of course we also need accessories.  Things that wear out...Drums sticks and heads, reads of all types, brass accessories like mutes and oils, various repair items, guitar strings, bass strings...
