Los Primos 2017 will feature 3 of the best Cuban musicians from the Next Generation.

Ahmed Alom (19 years old - piano)

Ahmed is truly a triple threat. He is an virtuoso classical pianist (full scholarship to Manhattan School of Music next year), he is a jazz artist who can play with the very best of them, and he can read like a hawk. He is turning heads everywhere.

Los Primos Project is happy to announce that our most amazing piano player from Los Primos 2012 and 2014 will be returning as part of Los Primos 2017.

Ahmed Alom is a virtuoso classical pianist who had just been awarded and full tuition scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music. He is also turning heads in Havana with his latin jazz improvisation and that is not easy to do. We truly have one of the very best of Cuba's next generation of musicians with us for 5 weeks. Don't miss it.

We are looking for talented students who have been playing for one or two years and are looking to get serious about their learning.

Our Rockingham Primos under the direction of legendary drummer David Burton, had a couple of key players graduate to university, so we are looking for experienced high school level players on bass, guitar, trumpet and tenor sax.

We have had such success with the Rockingham group that we want to start a new band called the Bayview Primos which will rehearse from 4:00 to 6:00 on Tuesdays at Townie’s Music (246 Bedford Highway). We are looking for talented students who have been playing for one or two years and are looking to get serious about their learning. We are also looking to start a new group in Dartmouth, which would rehearse on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 at 18 Rose St.
